Bioinformatics I

Aim:
This course aims to introduce students to the basic disciplines of bioinformatics and enable them to utilize their previous skills in programming and algorithm design in designing/implementing tools for biological data analysis. 
Course contents:
Linux Operating System, Shell Scripting, Dynamic Programming for Sequence Alignment, Pairwise and Multiple Sequence Alignment, BLAST, Phylogenetic Tree Construction, Sequencing Technologies, Biological File Formats, Overview to Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and OMICS Data Analysis.
