Biology and Genetics

Aim:
The aim of this course is to introduce BMD students to the basics of biology that they will need in all the biomedical informatics courses in the following years. 
Course contents:
Introduction to Biology, Cell Structure, Cell Cycle, DNA Structure and Replication, Central Dogma: Transcription and Translation, Meiosis and Chromosomal Aberrations, Mendelian Genetics and Inheritance, Biotechnology, Diversity of Life, and Classification of Living Organisms, Evolutionary and Comparative Biology, Ecology, Cytology; Histology.
