Introduction to Bioinformatics

In this course, students learn fundamental concepts and methods in bioinformatics, a field
that combines Undergraduate Program of Computer Science (CS) and mathematics, supported by information technology, to
solve previously intractable problems in the life sciences. The course covers a wide range of
topics including DNA sequencing and assembly, sequence alignment, gene prediction,
functional genomics, phylogenetics, and network/systems biology.
