Selected Topics in World Cultures and Diversity

This course exposes students to World Cultures both from a historical and a contemporary point of view. The course focuses on issues of globalization such as nationalism, the struggle for identity and the conflicts caused by migration, racism, religious fundamentalism and terrorism. The course also emphasizes the positive aspects of multicultural societies, such as the sharing of resources and information and the increased understanding among the peoples of the world.
