Scientific Writing

This course focuses on the development and use of research, critical analysis, organization, and revision within the writing process. Students are given instructions in library and online research and methods of documentation, using quotations and source citations for professional papers using inductive and deductive reasoning, developing the skills of scientific argumentation, persuasion, evaluation, and criticism needed for research papers. Most of the course work focuses on students’ work. Each student completes one minor and one major project during the term as well as a series of short response essays.
